What are All-Season Tires? you might ask. Well keep reading & I ll be sure to tell you. In the fewest possible words, they are tires that can be left on your vehicle all year round. Whether it s during the hot & dry Summer Season or the cold & wet Winter Season, All-Season Tires are probably the tires for you. In most instances, they can handle the extreme Winter Conditions just as well as Winter Tires; but some do not live up to this standard. If you live in California or somewhere on the West Side of the United States, then All-Season Tires are definitely for you. If you happen to live in Colorado or in a state with heavy snow fall every once in a while, maybe you should consider leaving All-Season Tires on your vehicle for only three seasons & buy Winter Tires for that harsh Winter Season.

For the most part, you ll see All-Season Tires on pretty much all vehicles today. The reason being is because if they made tires specifically for Summer & specifically for Fall, it would just be a hassle to be changing them all the time. Not to mention that they ll put an extremely huge hole in your wallet. All-Season Tires are typically the tires that everyone goes for when they purchase their car because they come in a variety of different styles, including performance & sport tires for most fancy sports cars, as well as your stereotypical car like the Honda Civic. All-Season Tires are even available for those big trucks! I mean it would make sense because when you think of trucks, you probably think about heavy duty conditions that they may get into, you know?

The only disadvantage, as I mentioned earlier, is that All-Season Tires do not do as well during the Winter Season. See, Winter Tires were designed to have a special traction that can help carry the car through wet, snowy, & even icy roads during the Winter months. When someone has All-Season Tires in a place where these conditions usually happen, the car is more subject to slipping & literally spinning out of control, mainly when a major storm has just happened & the driver is heading out somewhere; but of course you never do this, right? Your way out of this miserable situation is to put Snow Chains on your All-Season Tires. Regardless if you think it s just A little bit of snow , it s better to be safe than sorry; wouldn t you agree? In my opinion, having Snow Chains is much easier than changing your All-Season Tires to Snow Tires because it s more convenient, easier to handle, & just safer for you and your car. Besides, it may be required to have these chains, depending on where you live.

Even though All-Season Tires may seem perfect for you, you may want to check out the manufacturer first. Every tire manufacturer has different standards for the tires that they produce. They also have different guidelines that each consumer should go by. For example, they may say that each tire should be replaced more frequently, or that each tire needs to be rotated every so often. If you know about tires, you ll most likely know the basic rule: the tires that are more expensive are the ones that would last the longest; just like any other thing that you buy. If you do buy special tires, don t just go by what the manufacturers say, do some research & investigating on your own. Check your All-Season Tires every so often to see if the tread is wearing off, do a Penny Test, or even take it to a Tire Shop if you re not completely sure what you re doing.
