Everybody has their own idea as to which insurance company is actually the best but the truth of the matter is the best insurance company is the one that can give you and I do mean you the best insurance for the lowest price.

People have references when it comes to insurance companies and that preference may be determined by how many times you watch their commercials on television. We are overwhelmed by some company commercials telling us that they have the most discounts and the lowest prices and the best service and the friendliest people. What are you supposed to believe?

1. Drop Comprehensive Insurance

You can save money on your car insurance by just getting a straight liability policy. Every state with the exception of a few requires people to have liability insurance and that’s all you really need. This will save you 20% or more on your insurance.

You will not be able to go with liability insurance if your car is financed because the finance companies will insist that you have comprehensive insurance in order to protect their investment.

2. Raise Deductible

If you raise a deductible up from $200 per accident to over $1000 per accident you will save a straight 40% on your car insurance.

It is always a good idea before raising your deductible to make sure that you have enough money on hand that you can pay any cost out of your pocket in the event you may cause an accident.

3. Park your Car in a Safe Spot

If you park your car locked garage you can save money on your car insurance as opposed to parking at a street in a high crime area.

4. Buy Homeowners Insurance and Car Insurance from the Same Company

If you do this you will get another 10% or more discount. I do this myself and even the direct automobile insurance companies cannot match the rates then I get with my company.

5. Good driving record will get you 10% discount. Be very concerned about what your driving record because automobile insurance companies love safe drivers and will reward them with lower rates.

If you have any issues with your driver license such as moving traffic violations, or if you have caused any accidents within the last five years go to traffic school and have the points removed from your license and then notify your insurance company.

Safety features. Make your car has safety features such as seat belts, airbags and antilock brakes. Any car without these features is going to cost more for insurance.

Best auto insurance companies are the ones that can give you low rates for your car insurance and any insurance company can be the best if you take advantage of the discounts.
